What do you guys do in the offseason? People always want to know what we do when there is no baseball and there are no events. What many don’t realize is the amount of work that goes into planning the Pitch for Kids season.
This year there will be 18 events on the 2012 Pitch for Kids schedule including all of the events from 2011….That were all successes. That means we are unwrapping a half dozen brand new never before done events and bring back from the dead a couple of others. Over the next couple of weeks you will learn about all of them right here…chronologically of course.
A view driving up to the Powelton in Newburgh, host for "The Brides of March".
Starting the year off on Sunday March 11th is our first ever Bridal Show called “The Brides of March”. It will be held at the Powelton Country Club in Newburgh, which is one the most scenic and premier country clubs in the area. Besides being an extremely elegant club Powelton has extensive experience in the wedding universe. If you are a “bride to be” that is stressing about your wedding, this is the event that will help you place all the pieces together to have a special day that your friends and family will talk about for years! “The Brides of March” will provide you an opportunity to talk to a slew of vendors, view a bridal fashion show and you might win one of the six cruises that will be given away. If you’re about to get married then the “Brides of March” is a Wedding Show you can’t afford to miss.
For the second event of 2012 we are heading to Dutchess Golf & Country Club. It’s not another golf tournament this time however. This time we are trading in the fairways and golf clubs for a stage and a microphone as the WPDH Comedy All-Stars go under the lights on Sunday April 15th. This comedy show will feature stand up acts from WPDH contributors past and present: Coop, John Tobin, John Mulrooney, Joey Gay and Rich Shultis. It’s the responsibility of these supreme comics to turn Tax Day into Laugh Day.
In the coming weeks we will give you a run down on all things Pitch for Kids for this year. Don’t forget to travel over to the Pitch for Kids facebook page and hit the ‘like’ button. It’s the only place where you can be a part of our deals, contests and get all the information for our events everyday all year long. If you have already ‘liked’ us then tell the rest of your family and friends to do so as well. We don’t want anyone missing out.
You can also go to pitchforkids.org and grab a sneak peak at our 2012 schedule. For more information, to register for an event or just ask questions call us at (845)838-0094 ext. 231.
